Information Assurance
Businesses in the United States lose billions of dollars annually to electronic theft and our government agencies are continuously protecting data from entities that desire to cause harm. Most data breaches can be averted through a proactive integration of security countermeasures at the time of system design, ongoing identification and mitigation of threats, and continued vigilance to ensure that security mechanisms operate as expected and have not been compromised by change.
InScope Solutions has a rich history of delivering Information Assurance (IA) solutions across commercial and federal organizations. Through this diverse experience, InScope has developed a consistent CMMI Level 2 delivery methodology (Fusion), to ensure a quality deliverable. The Fusion methodology coupled with our technology-focused practice, provides the framework to address our client’s critical IA needs in the following areas:
Perimeter Security Design & Implementation
InScope delivers solutions that help our clients implement and advance their security policies. Using industry-leading methodologies and tools, InScope has developed a suite of services that focus on the design and implementation of security components so that our clients maintain the required system/data integrity, confidentiality, and availability to achieve their mission. These services include, but are not limited to, Firewalls, VPN appliances, SSL accelerators, Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) and Host-based Intrusion Detection Systems (HIDS). InScope is comfortable taking on a wide spectrum of solutions from performing individual point firewall installations through developing nation-wide, multi-access point based VPN networks.
Certification & Accreditation
By client request, we have expanded to deliver Certification and Accreditation (C&A) services. Our IA personnel are well-versed on C&A processes published by DoD, NIST and ISO, with most of our C&A focus revolving around the Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP). To date, we have executed DITSCAP work on behalf of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. Our expertise coupled with a suite of productivity tools ensure that our clients obtain accreditation in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
Threat Management
The threat landscape in the connected world is an ever-growing issue that all IT professionals must address. Using our CMMI-based Fusion process, InScope works with our clients to develop security vulnerability matrices that ensure that all parties involved in IT understand security risks. InScope engineers are skilled in the use of various penetration testing tools that identify the exposure to these threats and the residual risk associated within the identified threats. Knowing that tools are only as good as the analyst, InScope carefully hires consultants to ensure that they have the depth required to not only perform the penetration tests, but also provide the appropriate analysis and mitigation plans to remediate or provide a plan of action to eliminate all identified risk.
Identity Management
InScope delivers solutions that expand the mechanisms that allow organizations to authorize and grant access to critical business assets. The InScope team works with our clients to fully understand the organization’s idea of identity management and refine solutions to meet business needs. Through implementation technologies such as two factor authentication and client certificate engines, our clients can rest assured that the person accessing the target assets is truly the intended and authorized party. InScope’s OCS team has expertise in many of the industry’s leading standards and tools including, DoD PKI, CA eTrust (formerly Netegrity), and Sun Identity Manager.
